Prof. Dr. Tilman Cosac

advises primarily on issues of environmental and energy law as well as wastewater, municipal levy, water association and statute law. In addition, he specializes in issues relating to the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG).

Mr. Prof. Cosack was admitted to the Hamburg bar in 1997. After working for the State Mining Authority in North Rhine-Westphalia, where he was in charge of planning approval procedures in the field of hard coal and lignite, he moved to Trier University of Applied Sciences in 2000. Since then, he has taught energy law as well as German and European environmental law as a professor at the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld. Since 2010, he has also been the Executive Director of the IREK (Institute for Renewable Energy Law, Energy Efficiency Law and Climate Protection Law).

Prof. Cosack is co-editor of the renowned EEG commentary Frenz/Müggenborg/Cosack/u.A. in the series Berliner Kommentare published by Erich Schmidt Verlag, editor of the journal EnergieRecht and author of numerous articles in the fields of energy and environmental law.

Dr. Philipp Ehring

advises medium-sized and large (industrial) companies on all issues of contract, liability, corporate and energy law.

After his admission to the bar in 2005, the trained carpenter initially worked for a major international law firm in Frankfurt in the areas of M&A and litigation. Philipp Ehring then moved to a German-Luxembourg energy supply company. There, in addition to the position of general counsel, he was also responsible for the management of the natural gas storage company.

His clients include industrial companies, primarily from the automotive supply industry and the plant and mechanical engineering sector, project developers from the renewable energy sector as well as energy supply companies.

Dr. Jochen Klein

After his admission to the bar in 1998, the trained banker initially worked as in-house counsel for the German Savings Banks and Giro Association in Bonn. He then moved to DZ BANK in Frankfurt am Main, where he held various management positions including responsibility for the legal management of the securities and capital markets business. Jochen Klein then worked for several years as a lawyer and notary representative, mainly for French companies, in a law firm specializing in Franco-German commercial transactions. In 2012, he moved to Landesbank Saar as General Counsel, where he is responsible not only for national business but also for French business.

Yildirim

Career

Mag.iur. Meltem Yildirim, (LL.M.

Mag.iur. Meltem Yildirim (LL.M.)

supports the branmatt || legal team and advises on all issues of contract, liability and energy law. Another focus of her advice is data protection law.

After graduating as Magistra iuris internationalis from Justus Liebig University in Giessen in 2019, Ms. Yildirim completed her Master of Laws in “European and International Law” at the Europa-Institut of Saarland University. Her focus was on European business and competition law as well as IT and data protection law.

In addition to her work for branmatt || legal, Ms. Yildirim has been working on her doctorate with Prof. Dr. Giegerich at Saarland University on the topic of “Digitalization and Human Rights” since April 2021.

Ms. Yildirim works as a support lawyer for branmatt || legal.
